Screening for Plagiarism Policy

PRANALA LAW REVIEW JOURNAL (PLRJ) uses Turnitin to check submitted manuscripts for plagiarism and textual similarity. The journal permits a maximum similarity level of 25%. If the similarity level exceeds this threshold, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision and resubmission.

Plagiarism Categories and Actions

Minor Plagiarism

Minor plagiarism refers to a brief section of another article being reproduced without significant borrowing of data, findings, or ideas.

Action: The author will receive a warning and be required to revise the relevant text and provide appropriate citations to the original source.

Intermediate Plagiarism

Intermediate plagiarism occurs when a substantial portion of the manuscript is reproduced from another work without appropriate citation or acknowledgment of the original source.

Action: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author will be prohibited from submitting further manuscripts to PLRJ for one year.

Major Plagiarism

Major plagiarism occurs when most of the manuscript constitutes plagiarism, including the reproduction of original results, substantial findings, or significant ideas presented in another publication.

Action: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author will be prohibited from submitting further manuscripts to PLRJ for five years.

All authors are responsible for the content and originality of their submitted manuscripts and are expected to have read and understood the journal's Copyright Notice and relevant publication policies.

If sanctions are imposed due to plagiarism, all authors listed on the manuscript will be subject to the same penalties.
